EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE
La Capital Europea de la Cultura fue creada el 13 de Junio de 1985 por el Consejo de Ministros de la Unión Europea a iniciativa de la ministra griega de Cultura, Melina Mercouri.
Desde entonces, un grupo de importantes ciudades europeas han mostrado cada año su vida cultural y desarrollo social.
Atenas, Florencia, Ámsterdam, Oporto, Glasgow o Madrid son algunas de las ciudades que pertenecen a este grupo que fueron capitales del teatro, la música, las exposiciones, las conferencias y todo tipo de muestra artística.
Liverpool tiene la responsabilidad este año. Junto con Stavanger en Noruega albergará una gran cantidad de actos durante todo el año.
Sin duda, Liverpool es el hogar del grupo de música más importante del siglo XX: Los Beatles: . John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr y George Harrison fueron los principales embajadores de la ciudad en los años 60.
Para los visitantes de la Capital Europea hay varios tipos de eventos: Arte, Charlas y Literatura, Explorar, Explorar Inglaterra, Musica, Participación, Deportes, Stages, Calles.
Así que a disfrutar de la cultura en Europa en Liverpool!
The European Capital of Culture was launched on June 13, 1985 by the Council of Minister of the European Union on the initiative of the Greek Minister of Culture, Melina Mercouri.
Since then, a group of important european cities have shown every year its cultural life and social development.
Athens, Florence, Amsterdam, Porto, Glasgow or Madrid are some of the cities which belong to this group which were the Capital city of Theatre, Music, exhibitions, conferences and every kind of cultural and artistical shows.
Liverpool is responsible for this year. Together with Stavanger, Norway will host a lot of acts all the year.
Doubtless, Liverpool is the home of the most important music group of the 20th century: The Beatles. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison were the main ambassadors of the city in the 60’s.
For visitors of the European Capital there are some ways of events: Art, Conversation and Literature, Exploring, Explore England, Music, Participate, Sport, Stage, Streets.
